Is this just something that's going to come out in the next cycle of PCs? On HP's site it lists the 6000 and 9000 as new, but the 2000 is old.. And the compaqs are all 6 and 3, so where's the DV3000?

Also, while I have your attention, is HP going to have non-**** graphics for intel when vista rolls out (for the cheaper lines)? The AMDs have at least the 6150, but all the lower end intels are 950 crap.

Probably the day after Intel decides to make nice with the third party chipset makers and stop locking them out with their Centrino marketing program. In other words, don't hold your breath. I recommend buying the AMD notebooks.

The dv2000 is not old. It's been out for a few months. It was the first to be released along with the V3000 in the end of May. The dv2000 replaced the dv1000 whereas the Compaq V3000 replaced the V2000. Thats the reason for the slight skew in the model numbers between equivalent models.

    So,
    HP dv2000 = Compaq V3000
    HP dv6000 = Compaq V6000
    HP dv9000 = None.

As for the GPU, they do offer the Go 7200 with the Intel models, but dont offer that option with the AMD versions.

My problem with the 7200 is they force you to get some dualy core crap which I don't need for my purposes, I'd be happy with just the celeron single.
