Ya I noticed that too... fools still haven't updated it, still says comes with Vista.

No clue as to why that is...
If you game then the Nvidia chip would be a substantial upgrade. But other than gaming, the 4500MHD will run everything else perfectly while giving you better battery life and lower heat output.

They're likely just clearing inventory for the current model, and now they're sold out of motherboards with a 4500MHD and only have the ones with a 105m remaining. Looks like they're about to launch the revised model that uses DDR3 memory, support for an integrated touchscreen, and comes with Windows 7.

Thanks for the info on the video card--I'm not a gamer other than some mild puzzle type games so the integrated card should be fine for me.

How much will the newer model of the DV3T cost?

and the dv3t is now officially off HPs website. Replaced by the Dm3t and Dm3z, neither of which have and internal optical drive. Looks like I bought this thing at just the right time. Gotta be the best 13 inch notebook for the price with optical drive.

Hey does anyone know if you can upgrade the ram on this laptop from ddr2 to ddr3? like would i have to change anything else for it to be compatible or what.

i bought this laptop about about 2 months ago and i just love it. the only thing i regret is that it doesn't have ddr3. :(

oh and stop saying the nvidia 105 is bad, thats what i got! haha, jk. its ok tho im not a hardcore gamer. :p

Unless you change out the entire motherboard, unfortunately there isn't. RAM modules have a notch on the contacts side that prevent any incompatible modules from being used. The location of this notch for DDR2 differs from where it is for DDR3. DDR2 modules won't fit into DDR3 slots and vice versa.

Frankly, you're not going to notice any difference between DDR2-800 and DDR3-1066. The switch from DDR2 to DDR3 is more of a generational benefit to the computer industry as a whole in the long run so that they can continue to develop faster memory modules in the future. The consumer won't notice any any sort of improvement between DDR2-800 and DDR3-1066.

Theoretically even if the dv3t used DDR3, it can't take advantage of speeds greater than 1066 for P series processors since it's limited by the FSB speed. T series processors supporting DDR3 would be pointless since it's limited by the 800MHz FSB. You can use it if the motherboard supports it, but there would be no advantage from using DDR3 over DDR2. If you look at the HP Mini 311, it uses DDR3 RAM, but it's limited by the Atom's 667MHz FSB, so it would be just like using DDR2-667. The only reason HP did that is so they can save money by only having one type of RAM for all of its notebooks.

I don't know if any of you have received the Windows 7 upgrade yet, but I got my computer a couple weeks ago and I was told by HP when I called last night that I won't be getting the upgrade for about 15-20 days or more minimum. It's a bummer that it will take so long.

The guy from HP said that the Win 7 disks are sent out in the order of purchase, thus the people who bought laptops in June that were eligible for the upgrade get them first.

It's ridiculous that the just don't ship all at once or just offer a download of it.

    Frustrated....
