I was wandering what settings everyone has in their nVidia Control Panel. I want to watch movies at full screen and have the best colour/resolution possible. I have adjusted the settings around and have found one that i like. Unfortunately, full screen movies are not as clear as i would have hoped (my max res is 1280x800)
Here are my settings:
Brightness- +40%
Digital Vibrance- +65%
Contrast- +72%
Image Sharpening- None
Gamma- +59%
What settings do you have that give you the sharpest and clear picture when watching full screen movies?
Thanks

Off the top, id say put brightness on 100%
id put Gamma on default, it usually makes the image look worse. -
Thanks for the reply.
I had a go of that setting and with brightness at 100%, it was terrible.
I'm thinking that all this may be on personal preference -
Probably. -
Thanks anyway!
Any help is better than no help
Anyone else out there have a good setting? -
I've posted about this here - http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=315785
You can see the difference in calibrating the gamma from part 1 of my video review in my sig
The only really key area that needs adjustment is the gamma. The magnitude of adjustment depends on what nvidia driver version you are using. Once I updated my driver I found using my old gamma settings made things look hideous so I had to re-calibrate. Correcting the gamma makes a world of difference.
To adjust just the gamma use this picture and follow the instructions:
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/gamma_calibration.php
edit: nvidia brightness shouldn't need to be adjusted at all. Doing so will cause quality to deteriorate. -
I think this is similar to what mine is, I'm not using it right now:
Here are my settings:
Brightness- +37%
Digital Vibrance- +65%
Contrast- +20%
Image Sharpening- None
Gamma- +39%
Uh, does anyone get this weird issue that when you use Google's Chrome browser the control panel settings change?
In other words, when I load up my laptop the NVIDIA settings don't kick in until I open Chrome. Weird huh? and once I had to make a temp user account and that totally reset my settings on my main account... -
Thanks for all your input. Once i have some free time, i will calibrate the screen to my likings!!!
