This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    No offense, but if you can't use Vista, then there's no way you can install Windows XP Pro on a DV5Z by yourself. I don't think anyone's done it, and I'm almost positive that some components don't even offer Windows XP drivers anymore, rendering some of your laptop useless. Just learn Vista, it's not slow, it doesn't suck, and it's pretty much XP with some special effects.
