My daughter has an HP DV5210us that's worked fine with XP Home. That OS isn't supported by her college, so we had to upgrade to Vista. Before upgrading I updated to the latest BIOS and downloaded all the Vista drivers from HP. The install went smoothly, and we installed the audio and video drivers. Ethernet is working fine without the HP driver. We did a clean install to a brand new hard drive.

Now that she's running Vista Ultimate she's experiencing wierd keyboard behavior. She says the cursor keeps jumping back randomly, and windows keep closing on her while she's typing. To me it sounds like keycodes are getting corrupted.

This is a major problem. This laptop is basically useless if we can't get this cleaned up, and I'll have to shell out more money to buy a new laptop.

    Any ideas?
