Currently running this notebook with a passive cooler (no fan) that increases the air space under the unit by tilting it slightly to improve the keyboarding angle.

I'm looking at one of those highly rated Zalman coolers... anyone have any experience to share as to whether those models will work well with this notebook?

    I was considering either the...

    Zalman ZM-NC2000-B

    -or-

    Zalman ZM-NC1000

Interesting... 31 views and 0 comments. Not a complaint, just an observation. :)

Did some measuring and sizing up of the vents vs the Zalman NC-2000... I think it will do the job nicely... being shipped as I type this.

I did use the zalman nc-2000 when i bought my first "gaming" notebook in january 2008. Unfortunately the notebook (fujitsu xa-2528) had the nvidia 8600gs and was not long lived.

What i remember about the nc-2000 is that it felt and looked like "high" quality. It was very quiet and got the power to the built in fans from the notebook usb ports. I am thinking about buying one for my dv7.
