    Hello guys,

I am planning to buy a home theater system with HDMI input and wanted to be sure that the HP DV6 3104 EG can output video and sound via HDMI before buying it.

The idea is to take the HDMI output of laptop to Home theater and then HDMI output of home theater to the TV via HDMI in.Would it work? The planned home theater is an LG BH6420P which has Audio return channel. Anything which will stand int he way?

    BR

Any one knows if the DV6-3XXX models output 5.1 sound via HDMI?

Just saw your thread here. I have the DV6 3143us and am able to output sound via HDMI. I have watched videos on my 1080p Plasma and it worked well.

Mine has the i3 370m, and ATI 5650 mobility.

Of note - I can only output via HDMI if the ATI card is active. Also there is an adjustment in CCC that sizes the output to the TV that I had to adjust as I had a black border at first that was about half an inch around the displayed image on the TV. I cannot remember it currently, but can post about it if needed (I worked a midnight shift last night and have not slept....).

    p.s. - your model overheat?

Thanks for the info.I will now proceed with confidence.ReP'd you as well.

With room temperature at 25, CPU,Airflow temperature and GPU hovers around 48-52 as per HW monitor watching videos online.I have a Zalman cooler and never felt the problem of over heating.HDD do sometimes come to 50 degrees when not using cooler.

Thank you! Honestly it is tons of fun playing stuff from computer to TV. You can play hulu without needing Hulu Plus, and whatever else you have on your lappy. I love it.
