I was wondering why the newer models from HP don't have a backup time reading on the built in battery meter, just the charge percentage. I've had an HP 510 notebook for over 3 years and this old thing does show you how much backup time remains when it's running on batteries while it appears to be non-existent on the newer models I've seen so far such as the dv6-2157, dv6t etc. if I'm not missing anything. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If not, what's the deal with this?
Does anyone else thing that this is kinda odd? I know that Dell machines do have backup time displays as well. Did HP forget something or what?

I haven't seen an HP notebook with the time displayed in a couple of years. I would like it to be there but, to be honest, it is not like it is very accurate as it changes based on what you are doing.

Does anyone know of a downloadable third party battery mater which does have a backup time display?

This is exactly what you want...I use the pro version on my envy and it is GREAT... has the exact time your laptop battery will hold a charge -
Fantastic! Thank you so much. This is indeed exactly what I needed. Super cool.
