For those of you who wants to play hard core with their laptops and are a little handy... here's what i did this afternoon.
After only 8 month of use, my DV6 laptop started shutting down when i play games like Call of duty Modern Warfighter 2 since the CPU (AMD) tend to overheat a little and the fan/cooler assembly is not really powerful enough for this kind of treatment.
So after loosing my temper and all my tax return money to the new freezer my wife bought i went to the local computer shop and got some heatsink... for 2 dollars... open my laptop even if it's still under warranty and of course voiding it by doing so... and proceded with this installation :

I located the emplacement of the CPU and the GPU unit on my laptop.

Applied some heat resistent glue and thermal compound

I pressed in the Heatsink

And finally cutted two holes in the casing of the laptop !
TADA !!! my CPU is now running about 10 celcius degres lower than before !
Of course you will need a few tools like a Dremel to cut the casing and a good set of Screwdriver but if you dont mind having a few holes underneat the laptop... and you want to play 3d shooters and stuff... it's a cheap way to reduce a lot of heat from your machine.
On the downside, the heatsink are really hot so you wont be able to put your laptop on your legs anymore...

I guess I just lucky with mine or something because even after hours of gaming my laptop never shut downs or overheats; 75-78C max temp.
