*(found this posted already, but in the wrong section--'tech deals/bargains')*

HP Pavilion dv6 laptops show up online for pre-order

So apparently HP is rolling out a new dv series to fit in between the dv5 and dv7. From the lil snapshot of specs that's there in the blog, it would seem that HP is either carving off or just copying some of the higher end/top shelf options from the dv5 and using them to build a new notebook series with a slightly bigger screen.

The dv6-1030us is of particular interest.......for $800 you get:
    -T6400 (Core 2 Duo; 2.0GHz)
    -320GB HDD
    -Bluetooth
    -16" 16:9 screen
    -802.11a/g/n wireless

Would be very interested in knowing when these show up on HP's web site. If it's soon enough, will have to do some comparative research vis-a-vis my current dv5t config to see whether this might be worth it ;)

Hopefully they put a more powerful graphics card in there.

looks just like the HDX16. or rather, the HDX16 is like the "special edition" of the dv6

So isn't the DV5 of higher specs than the DV6?
