I am relatively certain, though not 100% positive, that it uses GDDR3

I think it uses DDR3 and not GDDR3 at least mine does.

I'll have to see proof it's DDR3. Although ATI claims to use it, most have either GDDR3 or DDR2. I'm glad they are using GDDR3 over their typical DDR2 finally.

If i browse to the Swedish specs it states DDR3, see link below:

    http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c01797097.pdf

Quote from the specs: "Grafik ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650
Upp till 2815 MB grafikminne totalt med 1 GB dedikerat DDR3"

Translated it reads: "Graphics ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650
Up to 2815 MB graphics memory in total with 1 GB dedicated DDR3"

GDDR3 would have been nice but i read somewhere it produces a lot more heat. Anyway i am pretty satisfied with the performance of my 1 GB DDR3 HD 4650. Even Crysis runs ok at 1280x720 with medium setting.

    I have one.

    DV6-1264CA
    Turion Ultra ZM-82
    HD4650 GDDR3 1 meg. (GPU-Z confirmed).

500GB hard drive (it's the Western Digital Scorpio blue)
    Vista 64 bits SP1

I just ran 3dmarks06 with the latest patch (vista compatibility) and it scores 5900 3DMARKS06.
I rent a COD4 server (16 slots public) and I can play on it no problem with the laptop, always fluid, graphics are at high setting no AA, 1366 X 768 native rez AT 80 FPS average.

I have good results with DOOM3 (running ULTRA details mode) although it's an older game. (MAXED out)

HL2 is nice looking and fully fluid also.
    Quake4 Ultra settings...all maxed out

Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium wars is gorgeous, all maxed out

Ok my DV6-1264CA looks a little weird cause of the MTV skin on it, but I really like the platform. I got mine at FUTURESHOP (bestbuy.ca equivalent)
    for $999.99

If you go on HP's web page and customize one DV6Z with all I have in my lappy, it reaches $1300+shipping (before sales tax).

I realize the CPU is no C2D killer, but it holds it's own. The GFX card is sweet!!! GDDR3 1 Gig!!!

BTW I'm a INTEL/Nvidia fanboy, but I chose this AMD/ATI combo for the price perfomance ratio and I'm impressed.

I can confirm that GPU-Z says the memory for mine is GDDR3. The regular Catalyst Control Center lists it as DDR3, however.
