posted in the dv6tse thread but disappeared in the general conversation.

Has anyone managed to get a dv6tse equivalent in the UK yet?

HP had all the core i3/5/7 dv6-3000 models listed until recently on their webpage but now only show one core i3 - the rest are AMD models (ugh).

no idea why are they doing this... some advertising promotion?

France, Germany, Portugal and even South Africa all get the core i5 models... but not the UK.

However, in the UK, some retail sites are now listing a core i5 model now.. dv6-3060 (core i5 with ATI 5470).

its similar with the dm4t - only model listed on HP is the basic Intel graphics one .. yet a few places are offering the switchable graphics model.

is the HP website accurate.. or just a complete waste of space?

seems madness that I'm tempted to import and nip across to france or germany to buy a notebook.

I'd say give the HP UK site a few days.

I noticed this with the Canadian site as well. Other Canadian retailers had various DV6 models up, but the Canadian site looked like someone didn't get a chance to post all available models and specifications. It took about two weeks for almost all possible models to show up. Plus, sometimes HP and manufacturers may not post "one-offs" they do for specific retailers.

If there's a retailer that has a DV6SE equivalent in a UK store, then it could be safe to just get it from them.

Good news. got a dv6 core i5 finally.

I mentioned above that one retailer - (actually Dixons chain of Dixons/ pc world/ currys shops) had a dv6 model, dv6-3060sa, 3gb ram, ati 5470, core i5 420, backlit keyboard for £699...(approx $1100 USD)

they don't have a great rep so steered clear... warranty through them usually another £130, so works out almost $1300 in total... (although could've gone for HP warranty maybe for £70).

no mention of this model on HP UK website so a store exclusive supposedly.. (and no ati 5650 model in uk, only on AMD).

happily though a more reputable supplier has started stocking their own variation of the dv6, John Lewis. still 3gb, core i5-450 though & same gfx. no backlit keyboard (doh) but price includes 2 year warranty for £699.

you US guys don't know how lucky you are with the prices though. :)
