I've just recently picked up one of these fairly cheap off eBay, but can't get along with the keyboard - specifically the location of the media keys down the left hand side.

Does anyone know if it is possible to swap the keyboard off of this model for a keyboard with a more-standard layout (eg: ctrl, shift etc on the left hand side)

Apologies if this has been asked before, but a quick search of the forums did not reveal anything.

    Thanks,

    Mark

I just spoke with Staples who said they service HP DV-6 and ordered the keyboard for a laptop and it costs about $100 for the part and $40 for them to put it in.
I own the same and when a key popped off from the keyboard, HP wouldn't send me the replacement keyboard so I could have it fixed in a jiffy. Instead, they demanded I send my pc to them for servicing! I had only owned the laptop for 11 months and it was still under warranty, but hey, I will not be without my laptop cuz I have business tools I need daily on my laptop. Shame on HP. I will never buy a laptop from them again. I hear they are notorious for having keyboard problems. Wish I knew that before buying.
