    Hello fine folks of NBR,

Recently I bought my sister the dv6-3050us, and not even a month later she drops it on it's side and cracks the screen. I called HP, they want $430 to replace the screen. That's half the price of the laptop itself.

I've decided to fix it on my own, but I'm not having luck finding the service manual for the laptop.

I found this: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01758220.pdf but I think this is the manual for the older models.

Any help/advice/instructions would be greatly appreciated.

That's odd, they should be generically the same except for cpu/mb/vchip.

I assumed you wanted the disassemble instruction with the recent revision so I used my service manual.
Edit: They are the same except for 1 minor change(Wimax Passthrough) which are for the updated revision for the dv6 3xxx series. :p

Take a look at page 67 on the manual you linked, vs page 66 on the one I linked. I'm assuming the disassembly instructions will most likely be the same, but I also needed the part numbers, which I'm not sure if they are the same. (I haven't had a chance to actually read the manual, just skimmed it a bit.)

Edit: just took a look at the instructions on disassembly, they are very different.
