    Hey guys,
I am having an issue with my DV6-7043's hinge. When I open the display I hear a crack kind of noise and the HP logo on the front turns off. Currently it's not a huge issue but I am worried that the hinge might completely snap in the future. I spoke to HP and they told me that it's a known issue and that I should return it to them. I have arranged for a courier to come and pick up the laptop and take it to them but I am having second thoughts as to if I should even bother returning it. Beyond that issue, the laptop is fine. I have no issues with it and can't really see myself without a laptop for more than a week. So should I bother sending it and has anyone else had this issue? Thanks :D

If it's cracking and the light turns off, it sounds like a cable is getting pinched or something along those lines to cause the light to go out on the logo. I'd do the fix if HP is telling you it's a known issue, it is very inconvenient to be without a computer for over a week but if you can find some way to get by such as using a family computer or school / work computer try to. Get a guaranteed time quote on the fix, you certainly wouldn't want to be without a laptop for more than a couple of weeks. Good luck.

Same issue here. Is it easy to take apart myself?
