Inherited 2 DV6000 but neither seems to have a working power button?
Have to run finger across the top media buttons to power up,is this normal for this machine or is the power buttons bad?
    Thanks for your help.

There is a small power button board underneath that seems to wear out easily.

You should first check if the plugs are just loose.

Its normal for the DV pavilions to turn on when you hit the DVD or Quickplay button. If you have the Infra-red Remote, you can also use that to turn it on.
