I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 it has a TL-56 in it it is a 90nm cpu. I have two questions first can I upgrade the cpu to a 65nm TL-68? My second is that if I can't upgrade to a 65nm cpu can I upgrade to a 90nm TL-64 cpu?
    Thanks,
    MAX

Anything up until the TL-66 shouldnt be a problem for your system. HP did offer the dv6000z with the 65nm cpu's, so the BIOS should have support for these(if you have an older BIOS you might need to upgrade to support the newer cpu's). But as far as the TL 68 is concerned, it might work since it is just a speed bump compared to the previous 65nm cpu's but given the small difference in clock speeds between the TL 64, 66 & 68 any of them should be fine...pick whatever is cheaper.

Unless the CPU has a core stepping that's newer than what the latest BIOS knows how to recognize, it'll work. Flash in the latest BIOS first to improve your odds. I would definitely favor a 65nm CPU over a 90nm.
