Hi there, firstly I'd like to tell you how much of a lifesaver this site has been when i've been downgrading my mum's laptop from vista to XP (a choice, anyone in their right mind has been doing). The issue I'm having is when downloading the chipset and network controller drivers (all of which are from the hp website, even called tech support, they couldnt tell me a thing) Every time i begin the install i get the error "acces denied" c:\sp3241\thumbs.db or something like that, im not 100% sure if thats the exact directory given. However if there's anyone who can help me out, it would be much appreciated! thanks alot

If the directory exists, boot to safe mode and delete that whole directory. Reboot and try installing your drivers again.

If the directory doesn't exist, I don't know.
