Have a dv6000 with turion 64 X2 tl56 and 2 gigs ram. Running the latest F42 BIOS. Is this thing compatable with Win7 x64? It should be, anyone tried?

Lastly, is it confirmed that 2MB sodimms will NOT work on this thing? I'd like to upgrade, currently have 2x 1 GB sodimms, would like to try 2 GB sodimms if it would recognize them.

    Thanks!!

Well, I guess so! I put in a 2GB stick and it recognizes it. CPUID sees it correctly, and Vista is reporting 3GB of system memory.

Whoever says that max memory on these things is 2 GB is mistaken. I suspect that with a 64 bit OS it would recognize and use 4 GB is you so equipped.

Actually, this now is prompting me to upgrade this thing to Win7 x64. We are running Win7 x64 Professional on my wife's desktop and it runs great. Very fast, very stable.

These things will absolutely recognize 2GB sodimms.
