I have had my DV6000T for about 2.5 years now with a T7200 Processor and 2 GB of RAM. It currently runs XP Media Center.
I was planning on installing a wd3200ebvt hard drive and Win7 on it, will win 7 be underpowered?

It worked well for me. mine is about 3.5 years old, specs are in my sig. I put in a WD5000BEVT (Western Digital 500GB Scorpio Blue) and loaded Win7 Pro 32-bit and it runs great, it feels faster than XP Home. I only had to look up one or two drivers, almost everything ran and installed on first boot.

that is great news. I am moving and do not want to take my desktop with me just yet so planned on upgrading the HP to win 7, and bringing my netbook.

Will give it a try this weekend. Does anyone know how to completely blank (format) a Hard Drive duing installation?

just formatted this badboy, do you know where (what) drivers to get to use all the pre-format function?

My video resolution does not look to good.

    Thanks

for anything it didn't install drivers for automatically I use the dv6000t vista drivers here.
For the video driver I'm using 179.67 - 7.15.11.7967 drivers. You can get them in this thread. Or the other option would be to use Tweakforce.com and look for [stable] drivers that support the 7400.
