Hello, I have a problem with my HP DV6000Z. I've had it since December and had a few problems(QLB not working), but those work now. Now I have run into a bigger problem. When I try to turn my computer on, the screen doesn't turn on, and the laptop just makes beeping noises and gets hot. Sometimes when I try to turn it on, it works and boots Windows XP, and everything is good, at least until the next time I need to restart or turn it off. After a restart, or if I turn it off and back on, I run into the same problem. Does anyone know what could be causing this. I would really appreciate some help. Thank you,

you really should contact HP customer support. since you've owned your laptop since december, you should still have the standard 1 year warranty.

Well it turns on sometimes. I'm typing on it right now. It turned on, but if I restart my computer right now, then it wont turn on most probably.

Except for the beeping noises and no screen, it sounds like my computer when it's running normally. When it doesn't work, it turns on, makes 3 loud beeps,(nothing at all on the screen), and it sounds like the CPU fan is running.

The beeps when it turns on probably are beep codes indicating what type of problem you have.

Here's a chart of them - but I'm not sure if your BIOS follows that, it's just the most common. It indicates you have a base 64K RAM failure.

I agree, it's time to contact HP's support.

    Looks like I've been robbed....

I've taken my laptop on board planes and left them in the seatpocket several times.....(getting up to stretch, going to the lav, etc.)

I JUST noticed that my remote is GONE!!!! Clearly, there's no chance me getting back considering all the flying that I do. It could even have gone missing at one of the hotels....

Bottom line.... anyone know if it can be replaced or do they speak specifically to each laptop them come with? PLEASE HELP!

I found out how to get it to turn on, but it's still jacked up. When I want to turn it on. If it beeps, I just leave it on and let the battery die. Then the next time I try to turn it on, it works. I tried calling HP tech support but I doubt they can do crap since they can't even speak english. =/

yep, my dv6040us is in repair for this 'two or three beep problem', these motherboards seem to be of really low quality. could it be because of the lead free properties of this motherboard that it is failing?
