I have DV6t 6100 that powers off if the F9 key is tapped too hard - or any key around it. I can use the machine for hours with no problem, and I can even hit F9 to turn the volume down, I just have to be cautious not to hit it too hard.

I've taken this machine completely apart twice(it's well out of it's warranty), one time to access a jammed fan and another to swap out the awful stock thermal paste HP uses. I'm definitely leaning in the direction that something is getting knocked loose momentarily there.. My first thought was RAM, so I did a reseat of that and even replaced it with the stock 8gb just to see, and the issue continued.

I'm gonna take it apart as soon as I can get the chance and just try to connect everything super tight, but before I do that I just wanted to check in with you guys since you seem to be the most active DV6 community out there to see if anyone has experience with this issue or maybe has an idea of what this could be so that I know what to look for. It's the 15.6" model, so the F9 button is a little bit northeast of the direct center of the laptop, if that makes sense. Like I said this also happens with the buttons around F9, but forever reason that key is extra sensitive to this. Looking at it with the back panel off, it looks like the battery is the closest thing to that area of keys, but this happens even when it's plugged in. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
