    Hello,

    I was running a program from a bootcd repairing some bad sectors on an HP DV6500 Pavilion laptop when it all of a sudden turned off. I pushed the power button but the battery light only blinks 3 times. I took out the battery, just hooked to AC, and it doesnt blink at all.

    I read that the battery has a recall (it matches the recall serial #) and I found some threads with the same issue, and they say that it is the battery causing the problem.

    Anyone have any input?
