    If i understood ur question correctly, then my reply is as below. The links i have given is drivers for the HP DV6654US laptop which I have used to install XP and works fine. This drivers are for those looking for XP drivers for their HP Laptop, I dont want any help, I thought I am helping here.

    If I havent understood your statement then make me understand...

    I was trying to install sound drivers on my 6654us for XP but it is not working.
    What sequence shall be used to do this.

    Use the Drives I have provided, U will the Intel Universal drivers, Install that first and reboot, if needed. Then Install the Realtec driver and restart. It wont work at this stage.

    Now go to device manager then find the sound drivers as yellow marked, Rt clk and say update drivers and ensure u r connected to to internet and when it asks if it wants to search internte say yes, the u will see the magic happening, all the necessary stuff will start installing and will work. this is how i made it work and then on i have done it couple of times and it works.
