I bought an HP DV6700T with an HD-DVD drive in January. I was wondering, would HP replace it with a Blu-Ray drive since HD-DVD is pretty much dead? Has anyone tried contacting HP about this? I mean it's pretty useless now. The reason I got it was because I already had a Blu-Ray player in the PS3. But now, I guess I wouldn't mind having it on a portable device since HD-DVD movies aren't really being sold as much around here. Any thoughts?

No, unless you pay for it.

Yea, I contacted them about my 2700t hd dvd drive right after Toshiba called it quits. HP said they will continue support for hd dvd, and that the have no plans for releasing a BR drive to the 2700t, and that I was pretty much SOL.
