I'll be moving to South America in a few weeks and I want to know if I can use my HP DV6700t there. The voltage in South America is 240 and I don't know if I could fry my laptop if I use it there or if I'd need an plug adapter or a converter. I tried to call Customer service but I hang up on them after 10 minutes of answering all sorts of stupid questions. I'd appreciate any help.

You will need a differnet power supply and possibly a wall adapter.

anybody. i chatted with an HP rep and they want me to buy an AUTO adapter that costs 90 bucks! It's the 'HP 90W Smart Auto Adapter ' which I can get for less at Amazon, but my question is that if I really need to get a different adapter. From what I read, a dv6700t can use both a 65w (the default adapter) and the 90w adapter here in the States.
