    Hello

I just recently bought the dv6 select edition with the core i5-450m processor. and am encountering some serious problems. Is it normal for this thing to be running on high 40's to low 50's temps while just browsing? The processor is on 2% load and it still is reaching these temps. Under stress test Prime95, it reaches 90!!!! Is that normal? If not wth is happening here?

Lastly, i installed coretemp and while checking the clockspeed of the processor, i noticed that it is generally underclocked to 1.3-1.7GHZ under normal use. Is that normal as well? Shoudnt it stay it the processors native 2.4ghz?

Please provide any help in this matter
    Thanks

Processors natively underclock when you don't need them. Web browsing for instance isn't a very demanding task so commonly your processors speed can drop well below the 1ghz range (Typing this right now my processor is at 848mhz), however when you do need them (say start playing a flash based game, or open up a program) it will jump to the listed speed. As for the temps, I would wait a week to see if the they lower at all (The burn in of the thermal paste might not be complete yet) but if not you'll just have to be weary of hot temps (105c and above is the danger zone if i remember correctly)
