    Hello,

Up till a few days ago, my ethernet port was working just fine. In the last 3 days however, it has abruptly stopped to work and i cannot see the device under the network adpaters section of the device manager. I have tried to update the chipset and all my drivers are up to date. This has not fixed the issue. When i try to install the ethernet drivers, i get the following message:

"The realtek network controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable."

I have no idea how to fix this and am getting frusted every day trying to fix the ethernet. Can anyone please provide a solution to this issue?

    Thanks

You have to plug in the cable in the rj45 port before installing.

or disable the power saving feature in the bios.

Of course i have plugged it in during install. the software that installs the driver gives me that error right after it tries to detect the card. i have tried it both ways. I do not know of this power setting in the bios that you are talking about. Can you expand on that a little?

    Thanks for the reply!

In the bios -> system configuration -> Lan Power Saving -> Disable

You still need to have a powered cable in the rj45. I don't know the light code for 10/100mbit link but in the 1000mbit link as I don't have a 10/100mbit full duplex hub or switch to test on. Usually they have light code that tell if connection is made and what link it is on. There should be a green light indicating power, orange light for activity, and bright white on the rj45 jack (means 1000mbit link??)
