    HP DV6t-3100 Replacement Backlit KeyBoard?

    Hey guys so i have an HP Pavilion Dv6t-3100 Select Edition Laptop with a backlit keyboard, and my "e" key stopped working recently, and im wondering a couple of things:

    1. is the backlight part of the keyboard itself or is it part of the laptop?
    (if it is part of the keyboard, can someone help redirect me to a website from which i can buy a replacement backlit keyboard for my laptop?)
    2. if i replace my current keyboard with a non backlit one, will it function properly?
