Quick question, has anyone ever gotten an error that says:
"[205] UIA Write FAILed 3 times !!!"
when trying to do a Minimized System Image restore? Basically I just got a HP DV6tqe-6000 CTO (Core i7-2630QM, ATI 6770m, etc.) and made a set of recovery DVDs from the HP tool (4 DVDs) and then swapped the stock 640GB HDD for a Crucial RealSSD C300 128GB SSD (Firmware: 0006). I tried to do a Minimal System Image restore using the 4 restore DVDs and I keep getting the error above. It would load all the data from the 4 disks to the SSD, but when it comes time to install the OS and everything it gives me that error. I tried to do the restore twice already to no avail. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I did a search and didn't find any other threads with this.

I never had any probs myself....when I did it. Perhaps a bad burn to your DVD's? This is why restore partitions and making the end-user go thru this whole procedure, is kinda counter-intuitive for a seamless back up experience. HP would it kill ya to throw in 4 DVD's so we can restore our systems without hassle? Or even a USB stick.......
But anyway, out of curiosity have u tried putting your original hdd back in and trying to restore to it? Perhaps a bad SSD? Just a thought -
Thanks for the reply. I had a clean Win7 Home Prem 64bit install on the SSD beforehand but didn't want to mess with looking for drivers/HP tools (like coolsense) so just decided to pop-in the stock HDD and make the restore disks and wipe the SSD. I agree, freakin computer companies now making users burn their own disks...SO lame.

Yea I like the "costs, and keeping the price down for end-users" angle they give us. I'd pay an extra $10-$20 for the right to have a hard copy. Stupid me, after restoring to my SSD, I accidentally deleted my USB Stick, and too try and save space on the SSD had not installed the restore partition.....Now Im in the position of having to get Win 7 x64 from somewhere and try and use my legitimate licence for it. Duh

thats how i installed it to my ssd and it does work -
I did a lot of reading about a majority of SSD having problems in laptops sporting "Sandy Bridge" platforms. There are threads on the forums of Crucial and OCZ. It seems they are suffering from, hangs, stalling, long pauses of inactivity, and crashing.

The only solid current gen SSD it seems not having the issue are the Intel SSD. I've installed an Intel 510 120GB SSD into a dv6tqe and it is running solid. I have a second Intel 510 waiting on another dv6tqe to arrive.
It may be unrelated to your problem but it is something to keep in mind. -
Thanks for the responses guys. Yea wittynorseman in my experience the Intel SSDs just seem the most reliable and "problem-free". Maybe I'll just get an Intel 320 160GB SSD. I'll keep trying on this Crucial C300 for now (maybe just re-do a clean install again).

And good info too Norseman.....although Im not seeing any issues myself.
