    Hi,

    I have the i7 Version of the Pavillion DV6 HP Pavilion dv6z Review

    My Wifi Link no longer works so it needs replacing. But I opened up at the back and all I can see at the bottom is

    - Single 500GB HDD
    - Spare Mini PCI-e slot underneath touchpad
    - 2x2gb Ram in the middle


    Where is the Intel Wifi Link 5100 located? I was gonna buy a replacement.

    Edit: Nevermind, I just googled the manual and it looks like its underneath the HDD, how pain in the butt that is..

    but a quick question - The space located underneath the Touch Pad, a spare slot, is that a spare mini pcie slot? Thanks!

    No, that slot is whitelisted to only accept approved TV tuner cards. Basically the one's HP sold as part of the configurable options.

    Plus, while buying a new one be careful to pick the approved one for your system. HP typically has (or had) bios whitelist on the wireless cards and every 5100 might not be accepted by the bios.
