I have an HP Laptop DV7 series (1 month old)
I sometimes hear a voice from the laptop like (shhhhhhhh) , it comes for a second and goes .. and the voice comes from the upper right side of the keyboard.
today the voice happened again with a longer period and i noticed a freeze in IE while opening the page and while the voice was there...

anyone knows what this could be !!??

    Thanks

Step away from the keyboard. Take your medications. Tell your psychiatrist that a readjustment may be necessary. The voices should go away. :D

Actually, I've got no clue. I have not heard any sounds similar to what you describe.

    The ghosts in the machine.......

Must be the fan. What are you're system temps? and do they keep fluctuating frequently?

Is there a CD/DVD/BRD in the drive when this is happening?

It sounds like a slightly defective DVD drive.

    Thx infamous..
I also thought it could be the DVD drive, coz the the voice is similar to a spinning DVD but with louder voice..
but the voice happens without having DVD/CD/BRD in the drive ....
