Hello All,
The 'P' key on my dv7t-quad edition has recently started to lose membrane conductivity, and I need to remove the keyboard either to try to fix the contact sheet or replace the keyboard entirely.
I'm using the maintenance and service guide from this page, but the assembly instructions don't seem to be entirely accurate.
After I've removed the optical drive and battery, I've taken out the two screws that the guide mentions but still can't seem to push the keyboard out as I'm supposed to. Can anyone shed some light on how they successfully completed this procedure?
I've already checked on youtube to no avail, and even searched through this forum. The youtube videos detail older dv7s which required one to remove the plastic housing around the top of the laptop in order to access the keyboard, which the DV7-6XXX series do not (according to the manual).
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give.

Hi,
take a look on this video. It is for DV6, but I am sure that for DV7 the keyboard removal is the same.

Kreto,
Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't see a link in your post and tried looking on google and youtube for the video you mentioned. However, I didn't end up being successful in my search. When you have a chance, would you mind putting the link in this thread? Thanks again for your help! -
Sorry, I forgot to put it.
