HP DV7T Quad: Audio is louder from right speaker then left speaker!

The right speaker in my notebook is louder then the left one is. The only way to compensate for the problem is to lower the "balance" in the sound properties for the right speaker (I have it all the way down to 70 if you can believe that!) Now my audio sounds even between the left and right speaker. I think it's ashame that seems to be the only fix for the problem. Not sure if this is a driver issue or a hardware issue.

NVidia installs audio drivers to the computer when installing the video drivers (which I still don't understand why...I thought NVidia was a graphics company?) Then I install the IDT drivers/software afterwards. HP has verified that this is correct so everything on my end is up to date...minus of course offical drivers for the 320M video card that everyone is still waiting on!

Any solutions to this?

 

Well... this has been discussed on the dv7t quad owners lounge forums already. Anyways, the reason why the right side is probably louder is because the sub is probably on the right side. That's what has been discussed but I dunno.
The reason why nVidia installs audio drivers is for the HDMI, which carries not only video but also audio =D.

Yes I saw the issue had been discussed in the owners lounge and the only fix that I saw was some software you had to purchase from srs or something like that. The poster who posted the link to the software either posted a wrong link or the link has since died...it no longer works. So that's why I reopened the issue with a dedicated thread, instead of searching through 150+ pages (most nonsense) garbage. I mean half the posts in that section are about "when is my order going to ship", "why has my order been delayed"...is this really why that thread was created? I surely hope not...

As far as NVidia installing audio drivers, yes that makes sense about the HDMI for audio HOWEVER...friends of mine who have had HP's for years before HDMI even came out says even back then, when they would install NVidia drivers/software, it would also install audio drivers. So who knows. I know I've had Dell's that had HDMI in them, with NVidia cards and there was never any audio drivers installed from NVidia...I really think it's an HP thing if you ask me.

 

Yes nVidia installs drivers for HDMI audio which is integrated into the graphics chip.
