I am disappointed with Dre/Beats. The bass is muddy and there's the crackling sound that I've been reading about. I am not fond of the sound dropping out when driven at higher levels. The equalizer is garbage IMO and HP/Dre missed the mark. Am I the only one that feels this way?????

I have an older dv5000 with Altec Lansing speakers. The sound is immensly clear at higher levels and the overall fidelity is superb compared to my new machine. In the world of new laptops, HP Beats is better than most I suppose. I have 90 days to decided whether or not I am going to keep it. I saw a laptop at Fry's a while back that had JBL internal speakers but it couldn't compare to the specs of my DV7T.

C'mon HP, keep the little new sub but bring the OLDER Altec Lansing speakers back.....Will hp listen?...probably not but oh well. I had to vent!!!
