I bought my new DV7 a couple of weeks ago, but opted to disable automatic updates until I had all my settings how I wanted them. Today, I enabled it and it installed 28 updates, which range from Vista patches to updated drivers and Office updates. When the computer rebooted, it was able to function for just long enough for me to log in to Vista before I got a BSOD. I'm not certain which update is causing the conflict, but there is no problem in safe mode which rules out all of the Microsoft updates. I checked the publish date of the updates and there is one for IDT audio drivers from yesterday. I suspect this may be the cause. I reinstalled the other 27 updates and the problem is gone.
I was wondering if anyone else has had trouble with the DV7 and the new IDT driver. If you haven't downloaded it yet, I advise against it until someone figures out what the problem is!
Anyways, I love my new laptop! It's been great other than this and has done everything I ask of it without issue. I am a little annoyed by all of the preloaded junk that it comes with though. When I'm not so lazy I'll backup my files and do a clean install.

Bump.
I saw in another thread that someone has downloaded it and it is running on his laptop. I've tried installing it a couple of times on mine, but it always results in a BSOD. Any ideas? I have a 2173-CA if it helps. (Q9000, 1GB 4650, 4GB Ram, 500GB HDD)
