    HP DV8T Keyboard does not work

    Hello everyone,
    I just recieved my dv8t quad laptop today. However, for some odd reason, the keyboard does not work. It is recognized by Windows, but pressing keys does nothing. You cannot even launch the BIOS with the keyboard. The touchpad does work, but the entire keyboard does work. The HP Quick Smart buttons (those lit buttons on top of the keyboard) do work, but the actual keyboard does not.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Maybe its defective, I'd call HP and switch it for another one.

    Yup, do it. It's most likely not connected properly to the mobo, but on a brand new laptop i wouldn't take it apart to see. Send 'er back.

    Dang... guess I have to do the last resort then.... (been waiting soo long for this and now I gotta return it)
    This has been my first experience with HP and my ol' my, it was not very pleasant.
