    HP DV9005us lap top

    THe above laptop has a built in web cam and it will not connect to skype.I have updated my BIOS and unstalled and reinstalled skype still no luck.I talked to a teck at HP to-day and he gave up said it was a skype problem.
    Iam new here so I hope Iam posting in the right area.The web cam works fine,just will not connect to skype,Iam using windows XP.

    If you know that the webcam is working fine, then maybe webcam operation may be affected by another program that is installed on your computer. This can include Skype.

    Have you tried updating Skype to the newest version? What other programs do you have that may utilize a video device or webcam?

    I have the most up to date skype and I have turned off msn messenger.I have no other programs using web cam
