I have a dv9035nr that (aside from its battery addiction and size) I love. But I have a huge problem running iTunes videos on it.

Audio breaks up and loses synchronization with the video to where it is not viewable. On occasion a re-boot will fix it, but not consistently, and not for long.

I contacted HP tech support. They suggested I go to the Windows control panel (XP Multimedia) and, in the advanced settings, disable the DirectX settings for QuickTime (i.e.--uncheck the "Enable DirectDraw Acceleration," "Enable DirectDraw on secondary monitors," and "Enable 3D video acceleration." Instead, they wanted me to leave it in the Safe Mode ("GDI only").

All that seems counterintuitive to me, but I tried it and got no relief.

Does anyone have any suggestions. It seems this thing really performs well on video-intensive apps (like Flight Simulator), so it seems it ought to perform well playing iTunes videos.

    Any help grartefully appreciated.
