It my friend's hp we clean out the fan about two weeks ago and now a green line has been appearing randomly and disappering.
I goin to check if only when on black screens.

I have resinstall drivers. place in a cool place.

Also When we clean out the fan and reapply some AS5 I notice that the heatsink that sits over the processor and the main chipset was not touch the main chipset. It was so close maybe by a 2mm or less but still I think that is leading to heat issues.

If you plug in an external monitor do you see the green line on that too?

IIRC there should be a thermal pad filling the gap between the heatsink and northbridge chip. There definitely shouldn't be an air gap. If you can cut a square of copper of appropriate thickness you could use Arctic Silver thermal adhesive to glue it to the heatsink and use AS5 between the copper slug and the chip, but that's rather involved.

If it would work it would be worth it.
Going to test green line with another monitor.
