    Quote from mobilityguru.com
How in the world did he come up with this solution. I read his entire article. No were does he list why this laptop is bad. Instead he puts the crappy companies blame on the laptop. Hopefully mobilityguru will proof its writers work before alowing them to post crap like this.

    1) It's not a good article. On top of that, it's not even a fun read.
    2) That aside: he's not so much bashing the HP, but rather bashing stupid people who make stupid choices.

As others have pointed out, not a good article. The weight complaint also happens to be fairly week. He specified an extra battery, power brick, and a carrying case. The computer alone is only around 6.5 pounds if I remember correctly.

Agreed, I think the point was more about considering all the consequences of a purchase: in the case of his social worker friend, the weight of the unit was more a hinderance than a help to her. And the people who made the purchasing decision did not consider that beforehand.

He spent much more time talking about the light weight of other units in comparison than he spent "bashing" the heavier weight of the HP.

    waterloo,
Seeing your other posts I believe you definately have something against HP. Starting that thread to scare away possible v4000t buyers wasn't cool. Then this, I just don't understand. Why do you hate this laptop so much. Both the v4000t and the Dv4000 are great laptops. Even Cnet thought the Dv4000 was the best. Of course the use of this laptop for constant traveling isn't its best feature. Playing games and graphics are what its good at. So please from the community to you please lay of the hate.
    Yours Truely,
    Tim
P.S. I understand if this laptop wasn't what you needed but it is one of the best options for gamers out there now. If you don't want to game get a laptop that is light. Otherwise stop bashing the best laptops out there. IMHO.

The problem with such a complaint, though, is that most laptops, once you factor in a spare battery battery, power brick, and carrying case, aren't that much lighter. A five-pound laptop would be a 9.5-pound pencil.

Even though I returned my HP DV4000, it was all around a great notebook. Only major thing I didn't like about it was that it was too big for me, thats all.

I just hate hp build quality, cost, and heat! This thing heats up and hotter then my R40 does. What's with the costumer support as well? We have tons of hps at our school, and they are BAD! ANOTHER POINT:
    I HATE HPs Becuase
    1. I am a buissness man
    2. I need portablity
    3. I don't want to pay so much money for no stupid reason buying another os to put in a tv tuner card. I want to DOWNGRADE as well... I don't want a 100 GB hard drive.
    4. It has a big PLASTIC feeling
    5. Hp business notebooks feel so "crappy"... I perfer Lenovo. Why? Dunno, Every company I have been working with have given me a Lenovo notebook. Recently they giving out hps. Experiances I have had with HPs are: zD8000, dv4000, and nx series... business class didn't feel business like, power didn't feel POwerful enough. Lots of crap (software). Had some linux issues.
    6. Mouse buttons are a little to stiff, the notebook is Thick
    7. NX9600 series had some strange funcky flexing
