    Hello all,

    I have a HP Dv5t 1000 CTO notebook running Windows 7.

I just want to know that is it possible to add a self-powered esata external 2.5 hard disk casing like mentioned here :

    http://www.acomdata.com/webimages/200911617927843_PS-TNGXXXUSE-XXX-v1E.pdf

    and here

Amazon.com: Acomdata Tango 2.5-Inch USB 2.0 eSATA Portable Enclosure for SATA Hard Drive TNGXXXUSE: Electronics

Just curious since I have a glimpse that eSATA might not provide power over the cable, which USB can. However some new rare implementation of eSATA p might be able to do it.

But however as advertised on the product page, there is no mention of adding an external supply to the casing.

So has anyone tried hooking up a self powered eSata drive to DV5.

    Waiting for your answers.

    Thanks.
