Hello, I'm waiting for my Dv6t-7000 to arrive from America with the following specs:

    Core i7 Ivy (2.3ghz)
    12gb Ram
    Nvidia Geforce 650m 2gb
    Backlit kb
    Blueray burner
    6+9 cell Batteries
    Wireless card with Bluetooth
    No msata cache drive
    750gb hybrid 7200rpm drive

I have been reading all through the owners lounge thread for the past month. I can't find clear instructions on how to install the mSATA drive and if it voids your warranty. I also have a few other questions that haven't been asked or answered clearly.

Will i be able to install this 256gb msata into my Dv6 while i have the 750gb "hybrid" hard drive? does the "hybrid" drives cache affect the mSATA?

Will this void my 2 year international warranty that will be used in Australia?

Could you please give me some step by step instructions on how to install the mSata with this configuration?

Some questions for anyone who owns this laptop:

Does it get to hot like above 90 degrees C under full load?

What is the battery life like on the 9 cell?

What is the Nvidia 650m's performance like when overclocked? (could someone please provide a screenshot)

    Note:

I plan on doing a Full review on this laptop when i receive it, ranging from outta exterior to overclocking performance and full body heat coverage. I will post it on here and YouTube. i will also put all the main important Q and A's from the owners lounge in a nice "1 page" easy to read format and any other resources i find, with some professionally taken photos from my DSLR.

Thank you for your time and answers.

It's hard to answer the question as I have not seen this particular laptop. If HP put the mSATA slot in the user accessable bay, then all you have to do is remove the cover on the bottom and install it.

If you are Dell and want to make it difficult, you make the user dissassemble the entire Vostro 3450 to change out the HDD and remove the palm rest to add the mSATA drive

Next go into the BIOS and set it as the boot drive and install your OS or restore your system image if it is small enough to fit on the drive.

Once windows is restored or installed you will have 3 drives

    C:\ should be the mSATA
    D:\ should be the 750GB
E:\ should be the optical drive

Installing accessories into the user accessable bay should not void the warranty unless you somehow damage the machine during the installation process.
