    hello there,

I've just recieved brand new envy 14 - 1110nr. This one was bought from ebay, brand new, box has been never opened before. I detected serious problem with the first startup - the windows does not boot.

By pressing esc key I turned on the startup menu->system diagnostics and run Hard Disk Test. The following message is displayed:

    "Hard Disk Test" Failed

    "Boot device not found" (03F0)

Diagnostic log shows the same result each time I try to run hard disk test. So I went to BIOS -> diagnostics -> primary hard disk self test...with the same result: Hard Disk Not Exist. Is it possible that BIOS doesn't recognize the hard drive? Bios revision F.13. Or may be hard drive broken, during shipping?

Have you ever had the same problem? or any suggestions how to solve it? I'm really frustrated and sad about it, my first notebook and it sucks from the beginning.

excuse my english, I'm from Slovakia.

I think the hard drive got damaged during shipping. Try taking the hard drive out and putting it back in.
