I'm a long time lurker here but this is my very first post.
I ordered the new Envy 15-32xx and got several problems starting with the delay in production and unit imperfections.
1. Delay in production - I ordered the Envy15 on June 5 2012, and the estimated ship date is June 14. Ok, June 14 comes and I'm excited that my order should ship today. Morning time, the status is still in production. Noon time, status is still the same. Evening time, same status. What happened HP? No email. No status update. June 15 comes, morning time, same status. Noon time, same status. Evening time, received an email notification of ship delay. If there's a delay, HP should have at least informed their customers on the date of estimated shipment, or earlier since they know that there's a problem in production or somewhere and they can't commit on their estimated ship date.
I actually requested my order to be cancelled because of the delay, the CSR offered me a $50 credit, but insisted my order to be cancelled because of the delayed update of the delayed order. 3 days more, order was not cancelled because it's already in the production and shipping soon. Ok, I might keep the laptop now if it's really that good.
I received the item, June 22. Packaging was nice. After unpacking, WOW! I love this Envy! This is my first premium laptop. The one I'm using is also an HP, Pavilion DV6 bought 3 years ago. Form factor of this ENVY is super nice. This is a keeper. Turned it on and the full hd ips screen is superb!
Ok time to inspect the whole laptop.. And found more problem..
2. Dented left speaker grill.

3. Bent USB port on the left side.

4. Screen popping out in the upper right portion.

I've read from some owners that the disk is not ejecting properly. This unit is working properly in that area.
I can understand item #1, delays can happen. But items 2,3 and 4, this is a premium laptop, and I paid a premium price for this. This is not an entry level $300~$400 laptop. This kind of problems should not pass the quality control. With these problems on a premium laptop, I wonder what's the quality of HP's lower end laptops.
I'm returning my unit for a refund, not sure If I'm gonna buy an HP laptop again.

My not only have the ejecting disc problem but also had the same EXACT dent at the USB as yours... however did not encounter the screen popping out... im sorry for your experience... i know how you feel. im exchanging my envy for a new one...

i would recommend exchanging it if u cant stand for the dents but the screen thing u can pop right back in. i understand its premium at 1k+$ blah blah but yeah iwould rather not deal wit hthe hassle. its up to u. now that i think about it ill check more into it to c if my stuff is dented...

It's a bit crazy that through the life time of this line they haven't got it right once, always quality control issues, supprised that almost everyone who ordered on this forum has had some kind of issue.
I hope this is not the case when they do arrive in the UK, saying that I'd have no problem returning it until i get a perfect model, I've never bought HP before but a few friends own budget models and they are in perfect condition.
I'll miss Dell NBD warrenty, I'd rather a technician come to my house and remedy the situation.
Good luck with the return, at any price point i'd not expect a laptop to be sent to me in that state. -
If I was a bettin' man, I would guess that computer was pulled off a table by someone tripping over the USB cable. There is absolutely no excuse for a computer leaving the factory in that condition... My computer didn't arrive 100% perfect, but certainly within the tolerance of acceptability...

I don't think anyone of us many members have received a perfect laptop?... ridiculous.

I remember buying a pavilion dv6 3 years ago, it's a quick ship model. The build was ok, there's no physical imperfection with the unit.
But Pobthiti is correct, I think none of the members received a perfect laptop.. -
