I bought my HP ENVY 15z-j000 (with the 8750m) at the end of 2013 (was waiting for kaveri but it's taking too long). When I installed a couple games and then tried to play them it would crash within 5 seconds, to me it looked like the gpu was overheating. I then proceeded to scrap the laptop and find my problem, my heatsink wasn't secured to my gpu. After some thermal paste and re-securing the heatsink all is well.

    Hope this helps someone.
