This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    HP ENVY 17 - Cooler?

    [not posting in the official owner lounge as I'm still a potential owner :)]

    I'm contemplating getting the HP ENVY 17 from Amazon (currently it's going for less than $1500) but I've read a lot of bad press (including in the owner lounge here) about the heating issue.

    If I get it with a cooler, does it reduce the problem significantly?
    If so, which cooler would be recommended?

    Coolers help... but not that much...

    this one is awesome though... rated best in class... and i've got one works great.
