    Hello,

    How is the blu-ray player on the ENVY 17?

    Any issues with playing blu-ray movies?

    The reason I ask is that I had to return a dv6 recently because it would freeze when playing blu-ray movies. I think it was a firmware problem.

    HP support has told me they use the same blu-ray hardware across their laptop line. Although I am not sure if that is true.

    My player mechanics continues to operate flawlessly--as does my software. However, I use the full version Cyberlinks.

    In any event, I recommend it highly.
