Hey everyone. I know this is somewhat off topic but regarding coupons for HP desktops...there is currently a 25% OFF coupon which is applicable to multiple All in Ones (Touch) desktops at HP's website. I just have 3 really quick questions regarding these All in One desktop PCs. The model I'm interested in buying is HP ENVY 23-d050xt TouchSmart All-in-One Desktop PC

    1) Is 25% OFF usually the best/largest discount that HP offers insofar as their desktops are concerned?

    2) Is the screen resolution for this desktop Full 1080p HD?

    3) Overall do All In Ones run hot? The reason I'm interested in one is because of the saving of space and the touch factor. However I don't want to get it if its going to run hot or the screen is going to be noticeably warm when people use it or even stand in front of it....

Thanks for all your help in advance. Or if someone wants to answer me by PM that would be great as well.

Hi, the ENVY 23 you're looking at is 1920 x 1080 yes, you can confirm that in the specs here:

HP ENVY 23-d000 TouchSmart All-in-One Desktop PC series -  HP ENVY 23-d050xt TouchSmart All-in-One Product Specifications and Configurable Options - c03573852 - HP Business Support Center

The 25% off coupon you see is about as good as HP is offering these days, a year ago they were doing 40% off coupons but keyword is a year ago. Haven't seen a discount bigger than 25% in several months, and I don't expect to see one.

I had a Dell AIO I bought for $399 during a sale, it had an awful AMD processor and was extremely plasticky. It died after a year, it wasn't due to overheating though, the screen died and it would have cost over $300 to fix. I wouldn't expect a higher end AIO such as this ENVY 23 to suffer the same fate. In fact, you get a 2-year warranty on the ENVY 23-d050xt which shows they're standing behind the product. If you buy it with an American Express CC, Visa or Master Card CC that offers extended 1-year warranty protection for free you get a 3-year warranty (see here or here or here for more on that). With what would essentially be a 3-year warranty, assuming you have a credit card that offers this warranty extension for free, I'd feel pretty confident making the purchase.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback....I went into Best Buy today to look at some AOI's in person just so I could get a feel for them and how big they are. The design on the HPs was even more striking in person and none of them seemed to get hot when playing YouTube videos or whatever. I definitely think I'm gonna take a chance and get one. I'm kinda tired of wires and AOI reduce that by a little so Im all for it.....

Yes, while some people will argue that a more modular design of separate tower and monitor is better so you can upgrade one or the other down the road, the average Joe these days is of the same opinion as you and just wants everything simple and all there free of wires. I used my AIO on a built-in desk area in the kitchen, it was great to go quickly look up stuff for easy access to weather, recipes, news headlines -- it wasn't my main work machine.
