Hi folks, Happy new year to all! I have 2 questions, please I would like to know before tomorrow noon. I must have to take decision if I buy or not a used ENVY DV7 -7255dx. this is the link of the laptop: HP ENVY dv7-7255dx Notebook PC Product Specifications HP ENVY dv7-7255dx Notebook PC | HP® Support
The first question: how to turn on off the backlit keyboard? I already upgrade the bios, I try already this option "FN+Space key + F5 and unable to get the light on.
Second: I want to create a set of recovery media of the system using the HP recovery manager.
The first window say "You are only allowed to create ONE set of recovery media" I am not sure if the previous owner created it already or just it a warning. Well I click ok, and the second window with the options of the type of media to use it just keep waiting for and the round light keep working. any ideas or suggestions?

    Regards

I realize this is a later response than what you hoped for, but providing an answer here anyway. The backlight on/off should be F5 -- no space key or FN needed for HP consumer models. There should be a symbol on the F5 key that shows a light shining and signifies that's the button to push, if there's not, that system does not have a keyboard backlight.

If you're getting this used, I would just do a system restore using the recovery partition. Here's a video on how to do that:

After you do that you have a clean factory default image and you can once again burn recovery discs if you want. Make sure the original owner did not delete the recovery partition on the hard drive, if they have and they already burned recovery media, they need to provide you with those discs as part of the sale.

Thank you for the response, but after expend hours to get the backlit on. I decide to call HP support team and after they did things from there using remote programs. They finally send me a box and label to send the lap to the service center. I hope they can fix it and have a brand new computer working as supost to be.
    Regards
